Therapy for ADHD

Neurodivergent-affirming and non-pathologizing

Does this sound like you?

  • Feel constantly overwhelmed by tasks, responsibilities, and emotions?

  • Struggle with time management—either way too early or always running late?

  • Find it hard to keep your home tidy or avoid having people over because of it?

  • Dive into new hobbies with excitement but struggle to stay motivated?

  • Feel extra sensitive to criticism or the perception of rejection?

  • Struggle to focus on boring or difficult tasks—or you get hyperfixated on tasks to the point of exhaustion?

  • Procrastinate doing tasks until the last minute?

  • Feel like you're trying to do life like everyone else, but it just isn’t working?

If any of this resonates, you’re not alone. Understanding yourself is the first step toward finding what actually works for you.

Listen— being a human is hard work, and it’s especially exhausting when you are neurodivergent living in a neurotypical world.

I get it.

Juggling work, school, family, and daily responsibilities can feel like a lot—sometimes just getting through the day is overwhelming. You might look around and wonder, Why does everyone else make this look so easy? How do they have it all together while I’m barely keeping up?

Therapy for ADHD will help with:

  1. Learning new strategies and reinforcing existing strategies to help manage stress and anxiety

  1. Building confidence and self-trust

  2. Improving time management and organization

  3. Strengthening relationships and learning to center your needs more often

  4. Healing shame and old wounds experienced in relationships, in academic and work settings, and beyond

  5. Cultivating understanding and compassion for yourself— you make sense and there is nothing wrong with you

What is neurodivergent-affirming therapy?

The neurodivergent-affirming therapeutic approach is based on the neurodiversity paradigm, which views conditions like ADHD, Autism, and Dyslexia as natural variations that enhance human diversity and adaptability. In contrast to the medical model, which pathologizes neurodivergence, the neurodiversity paradigm values these traits as core aspects of identity, prioritizing acceptance over attempts to "cure," which can negatively impact mental health and self-worth.

Neurodivergence is not a problem to be fixed.

In therapy with me, I provide a space where your identity is fully validated and celebrated. I understand some of the challenges of navigating self-acceptance in a world that often misunderstands or marginalizes our experiences. Society frequently encourages us to hide the parts of ourselves that, when embraced, can lead to authentic joy and fulfillment.

Many neurodivergent individuals have faced relational trauma and chronic invalidation throughout their lives. You may have often felt “different” without fully understanding why, or experienced burnout and overwhelming stress. Perhaps you've always been deeply sensitive to others' energy or felt insecure in social situations. These experiences can shape how you navigate the world, and I understand how challenging that can be.

I am here to support you with an individualized approach tailored to your unique needs. I want to learn about your passions, preferences, and special interests—what energizes you and what doesn’t.

If this resonates with you, I’d love to connect and support you on your journey.
